Update:
Originally I started this blog to show you what living in New York was like. Five years later I'm living in Florida, and A LOT has changed. How much has changed:
Here's a peek:
-I decided to move back to Texas cause I was homesick, I had accomplished what I set out to do, and I wasn't finding a full time design job.
-I had several different jobs trying to make ends meet.
-I started a pillow business, but quit.
-Put a halt on all things fashion, because I needed a restart.
-Most exciting part, fell madly in love and got married.
-Moved across country, something I said I would never do again.
-I was 27 in 2012 and now I'm 32.
For the past 5 years, I have also been trying to figure out what it is creatively that I like to do... and I'm still trying to figure it out. What I can tell you:
I love...
-Fashion
-Structure
-Drawing
-Design
-Interior design
-Art
-History
-Movies
*LOL I don't think any of that has changed.
In the midst of rediscovering myself I've also been focusing on paying off debt. If I can pay off my debt, then I can refocus on my creative side... this is also another reason for keeping a low key profile.
*Epiphany*
So today is my day off and I'm doing what I normally do on my day off. Drink coffee, and watch a classic- this being either a movie or tv show. Now I love classic movies because I love the clothes they wear. Women looked elegant, and men looked dapper. When I watch a movie, I really watch the clothes.
When I look at the clothes I think:
"How can that be worn today?"
"How can that be redesigned?"
"Can that trend?"
"Men's clothes have not changed."
"Who was the costume designer?"
etc...
So I'm watching Funny Face, looking up Givenchy, and it hit's me...
